Sherene Powell-Okafor is the Founder and Director of Scoil Sinéad Ltd, a Patron Body committed to advancing inclusive education across Ireland. With a background in both education and psychology, Sherene holds a bachelor’s degree in Primary Education, a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Special Education, and a master’s in applied Behaviour Analysis.
Beginning her teaching career in 1994 and fully qualifying in 1999, Sherene has over two decades of experience in inclusive education, autism, behaviour management, and curriculum design. She serves as Deputy Principal at Scoil Sinéad Pelletstown NS and is also the Founder and Director of HOPE Autism Care Centre, which provides specialist support services for children with additional learning needs.
Sherene is a recognised leader in the teaching field, a member of the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women Class of 2025. She is deeply committed to creating inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Sherene continues to mentor and train teachers in evidence-based, compassionate approaches to education and family support both in Ireland and various countries across the globe.
